Renown Care and Creative Training Hub – Promoting Healthy Eating in Enfield.

Today, 10 November 2012, Creative Training Hub worked with Renown Care International on a Bake n Take Session at Oasis Academy Hadley in Enfield.

The fun cooking session aimed at children, between ages 4 to 7, and their families was designed to promote healthy eating. Creative Training Hub and Renown Care have been working with a dietician, Angela Tella of Illumina Lifestyle Consulting , Carola Weymouth of Cookie Crumbles and Oasis Academy, Hadley to devise this fabulous programme.

We started with a pop quiz on healthy eating and the children actively engaged in a presentation that introduced the Food Standards Agency’s Eatwell Plate. Families made delicious blueberry muffins and fruit kebabs. I loved that this session not only promoted healthy eating, but also encouraged community engagement between Oasis Academy and its local community and parental engagement.  Parents engaged with their children, other participants and their local school.  I really hope more schools and organisations in local communities can create partnerships and deliver innovative programmes like this.

If you would like us to host a Saturday Morning Cooking Session in your local area, school or nursery, please get in touch. You can contact us on 0207 183 2624. This fun healthy eating programme is funded by The Big Lottery.
