October might seem to early to start thinking about Christmas. Now is the opportune time to build, maintain and restore relationships.   I have put together five key steps in Creative Marketing and Relationship Building.

Create your Christmas Card List…

If you didn’t get round to spring cleaning your database earlier in the year, then creating your Christmas card list will certainly help you set the wheels in motion. Pull together your contacts from your phonebooks, email lists and LinkedIn connections. Make sure the names and contact details are correct.

Step 2.

Focus on celebrating not selling…

Now is the time to make contact. Avoid the sales pitch, think creatively and keep it simple. Asking your customers and clients a question is a nice way to start a conversation as we lead up to the festive season.

Step 3.

Tis the season to be Jolly!

If you’re working with a shoe-string budget. Think fun and creative – a video or a postcard. You can reward those who have been loyal throughout the year with special invites, exclusive discounts, a handmade gift or send some helpful information.

Step 4.

Tailormade!

One size does not fit all. So the message you send to your customers, should not be the same as your contractors or employees. A personalised touch will make it extra special.

Step 5.

Be consistent!

Remember: Creative Marketing is not just for Christmas. You will enhance loyalty and build relationships by engaging frequently with your stakeholders throughout the year. Whatever you decide to do, remember, time flies so start planning today.
